Our values and commitments

Craftsmanship is the very essence of Caravane. It is with the greatest naturalness that we turn to natural materials, small-scale production, and know-how to preserve. These choices will always be part of our history.

Today, our social and environmental commitments go further. Traceability, selection of certified textiles, recycling or local manufacturing: our team takes on new challenges to offer you ever more ethical products. As a preamble, discover the behind the scenes of the little hands behind each of our products.

Defend know-how, wherever it is found.

Certain methods of hand weaving, artisanal embroidery or woodworking are emblematic of a region. These traditions, sometimes centuries old, often passed down from one generation to the next, must be preserved. Caravane values this heritage and supports these local communities by ensuring fair remuneration for its artisans.
Our workshops are the beating heart of our craftsmanship. Each piece is crafted with meticulous attention, showcasing traditional techniques passed down from generation to generation. Whether for weaving, dyeing or working with materials such as wood, metal or textiles, the artisans work closely together to create unique and timeless objects. Respectful of local traditions, these workshops are also places of innovation where expertise is combined with a constant quest for beauty and authenticity.
From textiles to furniture, plant or natural materials are invited into our creations with the greatest evidence. Always on the lookout for new fibers or more beautiful essences, each with their singularity and sensoriality. The objective: to offer beautiful and virtuous creations, which respect our environment and its natural resources. On the fabric side, we favor organic cotton and linen, jute or wool. For furniture or decoration, rattan, rush, banana or munja fiber. Each of these plant materials is chosen and integrated into our products with particular attention to their beauty, but also to their ecological impact and their durability.

Our creations

Take the time to create by hand

Our aim is to offer another perspective on the world. This ethical approach encourages the preservation of know-how, of this cradle of traditions. What would a world look like where everything was made by machines?

OUR CERTIFICATIONS & OUR MATERIALS

Whenever possible, we choose certified materials.

This is the case for the Paisley pillowcases, made from organic cotton voile, while the Zoé tablecloth is Oeko-Tex certified. Linen, the emblematic material of our house, is an ecological fiber whose cultivation and transformation require few resources. The same goes for rattan, which grows quickly and is environmentally friendly to harvest. Babanier, jute or rush: these other natural materials that we use are both biodegradable and sustainable.

  • Our creations are produced from natural materials.

  • Our textiles are designed with natural plant dyes.

  • Our linen is OEKO-TEX certified.

  • Our products are partly made from recycled materials.

  • Our wood is Forest Stewardship Council certified.

  • Most of our products are certified 100% Made in France.

Our philosophy

A responsible production

We develop each collection in small series. To give our craftsmen time to work each piece by hand... But also to avoid having too much stock. Producing as lean as possible also means protecting our resources.

Our community

Building connections

For the love of artisanal textiles, we mainly choose hand-woven fabrics. Local and artisanal production promotes the maintenance of a family ecosystem in the villages, the transmission of ancestral know-how… And the emancipation of women. Because with the WomenWeave association, our weavers are weavers. They are supported in the preservation of their know-how, benefit from educational scholarships and childcare services, better access to care or interest-free credits.

Our actions

Giving a second life to our products

Regularly, pop-up sales allow us to clear out our stocks: exhibition products, returned products, products with slight defects... In a responsible approach where nothing is lost. At the same time, your sofas can also be reinvented. If you have a Caravane model with removable covers, we offer you a new cover: you only pay for the fabric, we take care of the manufacturing costs.

Our packaging

Protect and enhance, without over-packaging.

Instead of unnecessary plastic, we prefer our fabric scraps. A beautiful and virtuous way to present our products. The paper or cardboard is chosen recycled: nothing is lost, everything is transformed.

our challenges

And tomorrow?

Or how to go further. New methods, innovative materials, committed partnerships: we want to go further. Far from resting on our laurels, we are multiplying initiatives to make Caravane the most ethical house possible.
