PRIVACY POLICY AND COOKIES

At CARAVANE, we are committed to protecting your privacy and personal data. Thus, in accordance with the current legislation (i.e., Regulation [EU] No. 2016/679 of 27 April 2006), we have put measures in place to protect your personal data.

A specialist in the retail furniture sector, ‘CARAVANE’ is a simplified share company (SAS), registered with the ‘Registre du Commerce et des Sociétés de Paris’ (the Paris Trade and Companies Register). CARAVANE’s head office is located at 6, rue Pavée 75004 Paris. CARAVANE only collects personal data essential for the purposes of its retail and sales activities and functions. These data are collected both in store and via CARAVANE’s website, accessible at www.caravane.fr (‘the Website’), which is owned and operated by CARAVANE.

In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) laws, ‘Personal Data’ means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person, who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier, such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person.

Collection of Personal Data

CARAVANE collects your Personal Data when you place an order online at the Website www.caravane.fr or when you purchase any item(s) in store. The Personal Data collected includes: 

  • User Account Data, such as your first name, surname, billing and delivery addresses, email address and telephone number(s);
  • Transaction data and; 
  • Navigation data. 

At CARAVANE, we use this data to identify the ‘User’ and to process any orders and transactions made via the Website. If you are merely browsing the Website, registration or identification with CARAVANE is not required. However, if you place an order online, you will be required to register a ‘Personal Account’. When you register a Personal Account on the Website, you, the User, accept that CARAVANE will and authorises CARAVANE to process your Personal Data in accordance with this Privacy Policy. As part of the registration process, the User agrees to provide data that is true, accurate, current, complete and factually correct in all respects. By registering for a CARAVANE Personal Account, you are agreeing to allow CARAVANE to collect and process your Personal Data, including your IP address. The collection and processing of this information and your Personal Data allows CARAVANE to process, fulfil, ship and deliver your order(s).  

The Personal Data collected are intended solely for internal use by CARAVANE. However, your Personal Data may also be communicated to CARAVANE’S partners, if you expressly give your consent to this by ticking the appropriate box when you place an order. Your Personal Data will not otherwise be transmitted to third parties under any circumstances. Data related to payments is collected directly by PayPal and our online payment service provider.  

Your Personal Data is also retained for security purposes in accordance with legal and regulatory obligations and to allow CARAVANE to improve its Website.

Purpose of the Collection of Personal Data

CARAVANE will not share your Personal Data with third parties for marketing purposes. The Personal Data collected in connection with the use of the Website and CARAVANE’s physical boutiques are processed for the purposes set out in the table below.

Provider's Access to Personal Data

The Personal Data used to identify the User will not be communicated to any third parties, except those that CARAVANE use to provide services. The third parties in question include selected service providers that carry out certain functions on CARAVANE’s behalf, such as delivering orders, processing credit card or PayPal account payments, detecting and preventing fraud and hosting and developing the Website. Any such third parties and partners must also comply with the applicable data protection legislation and regulations.

In certain circumstances, CARAVANE may also be required to disclose your Personal Data to third parties pursuant to a law, regulation or to comply with a decision made by a competent administrative regulatory or judicial authority.

Your Personal Data are hosted in the European Union, except in some circumstances in which your Personal Data may be hosted by countries outside the European Union. Any such countries must offer an adequate level of data protection as established by the specific decisions of the European Commission.

Rights of Clients and Users

In accordance with the provisions of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of 27 April 2016, applicable from 25 May 2018, of the European Parliament and Council, you, as the Client or the User of the Website, have the following rights:

  • The right to the portability of your Personal Data.
